The following notes are intended to provide some context to the rebuild of the CDA website.
Security
For most of the the Synergy sites, our focus has been on addressing major security issues. While this is not the case with CDA, the rebuild process ensures the CDA site is on the same platform as our other sites providing significant improvement in support through standardisation. As you will also see, the wider benefits include our ability to share content and functionality across all Synergy sites.
Product Catalogue – not Ecommerce
While the new site does not have full ecommerce functionality, it provides a quick simple mechanism for customers to email any branch and request information or a quote about products. The website has specifically been built to build on the past investment in SEO (Search Engine Operation).
Support for multiple locations
We have made a concerted effort to provide content about each location and support your individual business operations and objectives. Any feedback on other content would help, please let us know.
News
Across all Synergy sites, we have emphasised the News section in large part because of the significant benefits for SEO. You are welcome to provide content for news stories but NSC will ensure there is regular news posts added to all Synergy sites.
Modular approach
As above, we have built the sites in a way that it is easy to share functionality across sites. We have a custom API that allows us to share information across the network but reduce the support overhead. In this way, we can pass on the lessons learnt and new ideas that we develop to all sites.
Minimal changes to file names
A particular focus has been on reusing rather than rebuilding the foundation content in the database tables. This means:
– almost every page retains the same naming convention so there will be no negative impact on the current SEO when we go live
– we have access to all past improvements assuming the content has been saved to the Open Cart tables
– there should be little to no impact on the processes that integrate the data to Pronto
